Bury Youth Big Band

What's it all about?

From Chaka Khan to Glen Miller, to Gordon Goodwin, Bury Youth Big Band always makes you want to tap your feet!

The Big Band is made up of a rhythm section of drums, piano, guitar and bass and a horn section of 4 trumpets, 4 trombones and 5 saxophones. The small number of players gives everyone great exposure but we still make a huge sound!
Whether it's background music, a, concert, a party or just a Saturday night, you can always guarantee that the range of music and standard of playing will make you want to get up and dance!
About our lessons

How does it work?

We rehearse every Monday from 5:30-7:00. Band leader Steve Jones and Tutor Tim Power put the band through their paces.

Players tend to be Grade 6 plus, and are asked to audition for coveted places in the band. Such is the range of musicians, many of our members also play in our other Youth ensembles such as Bury Youth Orchestra, Bury Youth Concert Band and Bury Youth Brass Band.
