Since the Association was first formed, round about 1976, a great deal has gone into our efforts to raise funds to support the work of the Music Centre.
By helping the Friends you will enjoy the satisfaction of knowing that you are participating in a worthwhile venture, which will help the children learning through the Music Centre.
Every parent or carer of a student at the Music Centre is a member of the Friends Association.
Our prime objective is to raise funds to provide many of the amenities and facilities necessary for the running of the Music Centre.
By fully co-operating with the Music Centre staff and understanding their needs in providing the services of the Music Centre, we will maintain its position as an excellent musical training establishment for children in the Bury area.
We provide help by promoting concerts and assisting with the cost of sending groups on visits. We also offer a Bursary Fund to enable children to take tuition in additional instruments which are sometimes needed to keep the balance of instruments in various groups.
It may be that you are interested in some of the services that the Friends provide:
- Instrument Insurance
- 100 Club
- Discount on accessories
- Instrument loans
Maybe you could help us in the office or Tuck Shop occasionally or with selling raffle tickets at one of the concerts?
Pop into the Friends’ office on a Saturday morning for a chat. We all need FRIENDS!
